Kurrawa
Alpacas
Website
Having established Kurrawa Alpacas in 1990 with a small number of huacayas, we changed our direction in 1998,
purchasing the best suri females and genetics that were available. We kept on sourcing elite genetics, Accoyo and
Allianza, to complement our herd. We now have a variety of Accoyo genetics and have purchased an outside Accoyo male
shipped from Peru (now co-owned with Ambleside) to add more bloodlines into the herd.

Ambleside Alpacas
Website
Ambleside Alpaca Stud is looking forward to an exciting future with their suri breeding program. Top Accoyo and
Allianza genetics are always used along with the latest technology of Embryo Transfer, genomes, objective and subjective
measurement. Within their herd Ambleside Alpacas has a select group of pure Accoyo animals which form a core breeding
nucleus. Ambleside is also involved in a University based research project which is investigating the homozygous suri
gene.

We have used Embryo Transfer extensively with our best females, so not only can we show, but also offer our best
stock for sale. This move has paid off with many Champion and Supremes at all the major shows in Australia. Some of
our latest results being Supreme Champion Suri Fleece at the first International Fleece Show 2008 with Kurrawa Just
Cruising ET. At the Sydney Royal Easter Show we were awarded the Supreme Suri with Kurrawa Just In Time ET by the
Canadian judge Jill McLeod.
We were unable to show at the AAA National Show 2008 as Natasha was judging, a month later Kurrawa Snapshot won the
Supreme Suri at Melbourne Royal. Kurrawa Snapshot has Allianza genetics and we are eager to introduce him to our
breeding program.
Kurrawa Alpacas' emphasis is to breed Suris that have the genetics to consistently produce density, lustre, locking
and fineness carried on a true to type correct frame.
Kurrawa Alpacas is situated 1˝ hrs from Tullamarine Airport and 45 minutes from Avalon Airport near the Great Ocean
Road in Bellbrae, Victoria.

Ambleside Alpacas will be producing a consistent line of elite white and light fawn fine suris with sound
conformation and exquisite fibre, fine, soft handling, lustrous and dense. These alpacas will continue to be
successful at major shows.
Suri alpacas are extremely adaptable to a wide variety of climate conditions. High quality natural fibres will always
be in demand even more so with global warming and the world’s rapid use of petrochemicals.
The future is very bright for suris of high caliber with outstanding fleece characteristics.
Join us on our exciting journey with “Suris for the Future”.
